Collectors Nights 2025 in Pietrasanta with Glazed Earth. The Ceramics of Cosimo Vella on Agriculture
The tenth edition of Collectors Nights returns to Pietrasanta on September 26, 27, and 28
Starting September 26, Pietrasanta once again lights up with Collectors Nights, the event that transforms the city into a widespread stage for contemporary art. Within this setting, MARCOROSSI artecontemporanea presents a solo exhibition by Cosimo Vella, a young artist who has powerfully intertwined poetry, memory, and social reflection through ceramics and sculpture.
Glazed Earth. The Ceramics of Cosimo Vella on Agriculture
With a perspective that blends symbolism and concreteness, Vella explores the fragile and complex relationship between humankind and the land, focusing in particular on the agricultural landscape and its transformations. At the heart of the exhibition is a group of sculptures that stage the decline of a worn-out agricultural model: the land scarred by the plow, the toil of the fields, the violence of mechanization that seems to consume the landscape.
Yet, from this image of crisis also emerges the possibility of rebirth: nature regenerates, reclaiming its space, and suggesting a new possible balance. These works, suspended between myth and document, speak of food systems that need rethinking, but also of territories capable of preserving memory and conflict while opening themselves to new forms of hope. Ceramics—an ancient and popular material—becomes in Vella’s hands a universal language to tell stories that belong to the Italian countryside but that also resonate with global issues, between folklore and contemporaneity.
The Artist Cosimo Vella
Cosimo Vella (Milan, 1994) studied at Chelsea College of Art in London and today lives and works between Camaiore and Milan. His artistic practice moves between sculpture, drawing, and photography, nourished by references that weave together everyday life and myth, tradition and technology, with a sensitivity capable of translating individual experience into a collective narrative. Collectors Nights will be the occasion to discover this new chapter of his journey, which brings to the heart of Pietrasanta an imagery shaped by memory, resistance, and transformation.
