The Fair
On the occasion of miart 2026, MARCOROSSI artecontemporanea renews its presence with a stand dedicated to Luca Pancrazzi (Stand A09), continuing a curatorial line that favors monographic exhibition projects.
The Project
The project presented at miart, Urbs ex arboribus – Nuove vedute, continues the cycle exhibited in the MARCOROSSI galleries in 2025, centered on the relationship between nature and architecture, privileging the viewpoint of trees. As the artist writes: “I like to think that we are observed and tolerated by the plants that surround us and that they are the only hope, not only symbolic, of finding a more natural way to exist.” The landscape, understood as the result of modifications made by man, becomes the protagonist of an investigation that Pancrazzi conducts through constant interior reworking, drawing as much from personal imagery as from the collective one.
On the occasion of the fair, works on canvas of various formats and new works on paper will be presented, in which the process of sedimentation of the painting becomes more evident: the city dissolves into the very matter of the image, returning a suspended landscape, in balance between construction and decay. In the typical monochrome “whites” on raw canvas, the final image—a metaphor for the organic growth of nature—is the result of stratifications of materials and becomes the border between representation and abstraction; the details of the light on the branches of the trees reach such an evident visual autonomy that they transform into pure chromatic fields (campitura). In the works on paper, Pancrazzi explores with greater freedom the metropolitan space conceived as an archetype-landscape: wide horizons without narration, crossed by slender architectural signs, places of passage suspended between sky and earth. These works are characterized by greater compositional freedom and chromatic vitality, whose speed of execution allows for accidents and errors to be welcomed as an integral part of the process.
